How to achieve confidence as an Entrepreneur

Confidence is the peanut butter and jelly to an entrepreneur and should be a something we all strive for entrepreneur or not. Why is confidence so important for entrepreneurs?  Without confidence, it becomes almost impossible to close deals, network, and take risks. If you have ever played a sport for an extended amount of time, then you understand how confidence can affect your performance. Those days that you are low on confidence are those days that tend to turn into mush and simply fall apart around you. I am sure you get the point now.

Surround yourself with the right people

I’m personally not huge on pushing those out of your life that are not on the same thought process as you are. However, you should surround yourself with people who have similar goals. They will have a positive influence your journey to become a successful entrepreneur.

How to build confidence

Building confidence can be extremely hard especially for someone who does not have any experience. To start building confidence, try will small victories. Having small success will start giving you confidence. Don’t try to shoot for the moon immediately. Having huge goals that are long term are great but, make sure that you have short term goals as well. Successfully making your goals will start giving you the confidence you need to go on to greater things. So many businesses try to go too big too fast. They are unable to sustain that because they lack the confidence and the knowledge to achieve their overall goal. With your growing confidence comes knowledge. If someone knows a lot about a subject, then they are much more likely to have confidence on the matter. As you continue to grow in your confidence and successfully obtain your short-term goals, you will also gain more knowledge on the subject. These are some of the building blocks of becoming a successful entrepreneur, each building on one another.

Here is a break down.

  1. Create short-term goals. Completing these goals will build your confidence. However, don’t lose sight of your long-term goal.

  1.   Surround yourself with the right people. Their influence on you will give you the motivation to successfully complete your goals.

  1. Continue to grow your knowledge. Knowledge and confidence go hand in hand and will continue to make you more successful as your knowledge and confidence continue to grow.
